1. MISSIONS OF THE “INSERRES” WORKSHOP

Within the framework of penal and voluntary placements, the main mission of the “Inserres” workshop is to supervise and accompany the beneficiary placed in the framework of the elaboration and realization of a realistic professional or training project.

However, other objectives are pursued: the resumption of a rhythm of life ;

  • The integration and application of the basic rules of the working world:
  • Respect for schedules, instructions and commitments, respect for equipment and hierarchy, etc. ;
  • The adoption of a healthy lifestyle to be able to join a company;
  • Learning to work independently and in a team;
  • Improving self-esteem and confidence in one’s skills;
  • Academic upgrading;
  • Finding internships and apprenticeships and providing guidance;

All these points are objectified and evaluated as the beneficiary goes through the process.

2. THE PROCEDURE

The beneficiaries of the “Inserres” measure can be placed either criminally by the TMin or voluntarily by the SPMi, the Invalidity Insurance (AI) and the Hospice General (HG). Placements can be made following a request from a TMin judge (criminal placement); from a Child Protection Worker (CPW) of the SPMi (criminal placement validated by the judge in charge of the follow-up or a voluntary placement validated by the SPMi); an educator from the Personal Assistance Unit (UAP) (criminal placement validated by the judge in charge of the follow-up or a voluntary placement validated by the UAP); a counselor from the IA and a counselor from the HG.

“Inserres” also has the possibility of assuming the application of art.13DPMin1 ordered by the TMin, with the main objective of returning to vocational training.

The first contact is made directly between the institutions, the aim being to meet the person and establish a framework: what the person will be doing at “Inserres”, what is expected of him/her and what type of support is proposed.

3. MEANS AND AXES OF INTERVENTION

Since its creation, in January 2013, the global mission of Inserres has not changed, but its application in the field has evolved.

  • Work with the beneficiary and the professional network ;
  • Taking into account the social environment ;
  • The educational approach in an open environment ;

4. WORKING WITH THE NETWORK

When a beneficiary is criminally or voluntarily placed in the “Inserres” professional integration measure, the entire network is notified. Meetings are organized by the SPMi, the UAP, the AI or the HG and information likely to help the situation evolve positively is shared.

All resources are used to ensure that the people integrated into the measure can benefit from a maximum of internship places. Collaboration with the employers of the canton’s companies, as well as with the various partners of the Geneva social network, is essential in the implementation of a personalized and effective accompaniment.
The entire program team works closely with the networks that are useful in fulfilling the professional integration mandate. By being integrated into the network, it guarantees a multidisciplinary follow-up, notably by :

  • Participating in various meetings with other professionals ;
  • Calling on the network partners as soon as necessary.
