GENEVE DEBAT
Created in 2018, the Genève Débat association has been committed to promoting the art of debate within Geneva’s Secondary II establishments, such as Colleges, Schools of General Culture, Business Schools, and Vocational and Pre-Vocational Training Centres. The aim of the project is to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of knowing how to express themselves in public, while developing their critical faculties through adversarial debates.

1. The concept
Over the course of two 90-minute sessions, pairs of students and ambassadors from the association are entrusted with the invaluable task of passing on to the pupils their knowledge and tips that will be useful to them throughout their school career, as well as in their day-to-day lives and future professional lives. The young people learn not only to express themselves with ease, but also to develop their ability to argue, discuss and think critically. In this way, the project provides an enriching learning experience for students, encouraging their personal development and preparing them for working life.
